CONTRIBUTION OF JGS TO ISSMGE

The Japanese Geotechnical Society is one of the member societies of the International Society for
Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering – ISSMGE, and has made significant contributions to
ISSMGE for many years.

Professor Ikuo Towhata served as ISSMGE Vice President for Asia for the term of 2013 – 2017.
